During WWII, women who joined the Navy as WAVES staffed duty locations across the country. These women broke barriers in areas like cryptology, aviation, engineering and computing, paving the way for fields that evolved into cybersecurity, information technology, and computer science. Learn about the many ways Navy women served during WWII. 

Patty Chappine is an adjunct professor at 91直播. Her recent book New Jersey Women during World War II: On the Home Front and Abroad was published by Lexington Books in 2024.

This class offers an introduction to the basics of Spanish pronunciation, useful basic grammar tools, and development of listening and conversation skills.  Each class will be interactive with opportunities for lively student participation. 

Maria Castillo has been teaching Spanish at 91直播 for 25+ years. She has traveled several times to Spain, Venezuela, Ecuador, Puerto Rico, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic and is passionate about teaching the Spanish language.

This is a class for non-native speakers of English who wish to improve their comprehension and conversation skills.  Each class will include active listening and speaking practice. 

Maria Castillo is a Spanish instructor at 91直播.  Also holding a degree in Applied Linguistics, she has also taught English in the U.S., Spain, and Brazil to people from all over the world. Languages and culture are her passion.

This course is an overview of various topics in law enforcement and policing in the United States from a seasoned practitioner. The topics include the differences between law enforcement and policing, the structures at all levels, selection and training of officers, discretion, policing strategies, police positions and job functions, constitutional restraints on law enforcement, use of force, and special issues. We will be using real life examples, including some videos.

Professor Rick Mulvihill is a Tenured Instructor of Criminal Justice at 91直播. He spent twenty-six years in local policing, including 13 years as chief. He was then appointed the Director of Public Safety for Atlantic County. Finally serving as a research director for the U.S. Department of Justice. He is a graduate of the New Jersey State Police Academy and the FBI National Academy. He holds both an B.A. and M.Sc .in Criminal Justice.
