At 91直播, community engagement isn鈥檛 just what we do鈥攊t鈥檚 who we are. We partner with students, colleagues, and community leaders to create powerful connections that tackle pressing social, cultural, and economic challenges, all while enriching the 91直播 student experience.

The Office of Community Engagement is your gateway to collaboration. We link people, ideas, and resources to drive impact through 91直播鈥檚 signature initiatives, bringing neighbors together, building relationships, and sparking change with an ethic of care.

From collaboration, shared creativity, and research to hands-on projects, we work side by side with our community partners to strengthen our region, celebrate local expertise, and open doors to opportunity. Together, we鈥檙e building a brighter future鈥攐ne partnership at a time.

To be a national model for transformative community engagement, where 91直播 serves as a trusted anchor institution鈥攆ostering meaningful partnerships, civic responsibility, and collaborative scholarship that empower students, faculty, staff, and community members to create lasting impact through positive change.

 

Mission

The Division of Community Engagement provides opportunities for 91直播 to engage with communities through service, volunteering, scholarship, and fostering meaningful relationships.  We are committed to:

 

  • Serving as an integral part of the community by cultivating relationships between 91直播 campus partners, community members, and organizations, whose expertise enhances our learning and engagement.

 

  • Supporting and providing service and leadership opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to enhance their academic, personal, and professional development.

 

  • Serving as a central contact for community organizations seeking partnership with 91直播 and providing pathways for relationship-building between students, faculty, staff, and individuals, community groups, and other organizations doing or seeking community-engaged work.

 

  • Cultivating a culture of civility, which is mutually beneficial to our community partnerships, aligns with our programs and initiatives, and supports and contributes to achieving the university鈥檚 strategic goals.
